DVD Ley Lines
Arts Magic DVD

image

Slightly better than the other two titles of the box-set. Nothing outstanding yet, the darker parts are still hard to make out even when you push the brightness of your set to the max, and the redder tones could have been made richer.

sound

A good dolby stereo.

subtitles

Some mispellings+some gaps.

special features

Very comprehensive, two Miike interviews, as for the rest of the box-set, and one short interview of editor Yasushi Shimamura. Interesting full length commentary by Midnight Eye's main editor Tom Mes. Various other extras.

menus

Comes as a single DVD, or packed with the rest of the trilogy—Shinjuku Triad Society and Ley lines—in a box-set. Single DVD tested here; neat cover and animated menus.

quality/price ration

One of the rare Western DVD release of this third part of the Shinjuku trilogy, which is already good enough in itself to please hardcore Miike afficionados.
All our thanks to ArtsMagic USA for providing us with the DVD.
