Nights in White Satins

Hong Kong Nocturne has more cinematographical qualities the the Millionaire Chase: a well written screenplay about the hopes for rising of three singing sisters, Cheng Pei Pei convincing in the melodramatic scenes, a correct directing with some nice ideas (the diamonds around the singer, the use of animation), very beautiful dance numbers (especially the one on the roof with the teacher pursuing his pupil or the revisiting of Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend). But ultimately it's lacking of rythm outside the dance numbers. And most of all it's not mad enough. Well tried anyway.
