Jin Chuan Pictures

Présentation
Created in 2002, Jin Chuan Pictures studio could be considered as the son of the UFO studio. While Peter Chan, creator of UFO, has decided to create a new studio, Applause Pictures, in order to take a more "panasian" direction (with collaboration with Thailand, and Korea), Teddy Chen is concentrating more on the chinese market: Taiwan, Mainland China, and Hong-Kong. This belief gave birth to Jin Chuan Pictures.

The first two productions of Jin Chuan can be considered as half way between commercial and art films, one made in Taiwan (Twenty Something Taipei), a really "Chinese" one (Hidden Track, with its cast from China, HK and Taiwan). But the movie which could give a name to the studio is without question Dark October. With a budget over 50 millions HK$, 500 SFX shots, an impressive cast (Eric Tsang, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Chang Chen, Ekin Cheng, Eason Chan...), and a total freedom on the movie (the movie is financed by a funding, not by an investor), Dark October will quite simply decide of the future of Jin Chuan Pictures. The studio is playing his survival on this movie.
