There's nothing like a good old epic family drama. Sorrow Of The Gentry follows the ups and (mostly) downs of the Yang clan, led by a patriarch who has four sons. Set in the early 1920's, the household with the four distinctly different brothers go through loves and heartaches taking the audience along on a rich emotional ride. A classic tale of tradition versus individualism, the heart versus the mind, and an allegory of the changes happening in contemporary Hong Kong during the 70s. Bring your tissues!
